Saint Johns Bridge
Saint Johns Bridge
8”x8” Oil on canvas
Finished and dedicated on June 13, 1931 for the 23rd annual Rose Festival, Saint Johns Bridge was designed by David B. Steinman. It was built in 21 months and 1 million dollars under budget. At the time it was the highest clearance in the nation, the longest prefabricated steel cable rope strands, the tallest steel frame piers of reinforced concrete, the first application of aviation clearance lights to the towers, and longest suspension span west of Detroit, Michigan.
Shipping
If you would like to pick up the painting in person, please send us an email to make arrangements jack@jackwrayartist.com. We are based in Portland, OR, and travel to Monterey, CA frequently.
Jack’s paintings often have beautiful texture that add to the depth of the image. This is achieved by building up paint through the creative process. Generally, paintings are dry to the touch at 3 weeks, and are suitable to ship at this point. Full curing of the painting can take as long as one year. Please allow for up to 4 weeks to deliver commissioned or new paintings, and always reach out by email with any questions or needs.
The Small Details
Color nuances as they appear on your screen can vary from what we see with our eyes in person. If you are unsure about the colors, we will be happy to send more photos or closeups. Please be sure the painting is right for you before purchasing. Paintings are sold as is, and not “upon approval”. If a painting is damaged during shipping, we will work with you to make it right.
