Painting in Portland

We did it, and love it. Jack and I made a 5 year plan to move to Portland 12 years ago, and this year the stars aligned. In Summer we settled in, and built a backyard studio for Jack with the family’s help. Jack showed new original paintings in the Tigard Art Walk and Lake Oswego’s ARTspace Gallery, Abandoned (still up now!!). As we get settled into a new school, new weather, and a new normal we are making plans for a Spring studio opening & garden party. Now, with the rains starting I spend some part of my day thinking about which flower bulbs to move and bushes to prune to make the yard look amazing. Jack is of course thinking of what to paint next. These are my old stomping grounds, and cherished territory that I am thrilled to share with my guys. Jack is seizing this opportunity to paint plein air in many recognizably Portland locations. This serves two purposes: familiarization with some iconic Portland views, and some great & affordable paintings offered only to newsletter subscribers. Yup, you need to subscribe to the newsletters to grab these landscapes.

Go out there and enjoy the changing of the season: eat as many farmers market and garden tomatoes as you can before the weather turns, wander in the rain with your kids looking for double rainbows, and buy a Portland plein air landscape from Jack to lock a little Portland in your life too.

Be well, stay active.
