Guiding Growth 36"x48" Oil on canvas, gold leaf.

This is a portrait of Lauren Proulx, the director of our family preschool, St. Dunstan’s in Carmel Valley, CA. The second piece in my series highlighting women who work to make our world a better place. There is so much more to a person than their face, and I wanted to show some of her character as well as her image. The Labyrinth is a metaphor for life’s journey from birth to realizing our calling to death. Lauren is expressing her calling by helping young people realize, and be happy with, their true selves. I wanted to give both her image and the labyrinth equal weight because guiding people is a defining characteristic that they have in common.

Metal or Giclée prints are also available. Giclée is printed on fine art smooth, OBA free, archival paper. Metal prints are created with high grade pigment ink with the Epson EP20000 and laminated and mounted on ACM (aluminum composite material). The print is ready to hang with the attached float mount.

A total of 50 prints in all will be released in the limited edition series. All will be hand signed and numbered.

Jack’s paintings often have beautiful texture that add to the depth of the image. This is achieved by building up paint through the creative process. Generally, paintings are dry to the touch at 3 weeks, and are suitable to ship at this point. Full curing of the painting can take as long as one year. Please allow for up to 4 weeks to deliver commissioned or new paintings, and always reach out by email with any questions or needs.

The Small Details
