Wild Mushrooms
Wild Mushrooms
8”x8” Oil on canvas with float frame
The Pacific North West is home to temperate rain forests, and there are even wet lands within a major metropolitan area. I am still amazed at the different climate. The way that familiar plants like moss and lichens and ferns thrive here make them seem like new to me. I’ve been amazed at how there seem to be mushrooms on every hike all year long. I am looking forward to learning more about the local mycelium fruits, which ones can be eaten and which to avoid. This years family Christmas hike led us through a wetland wonderland to find (among many other natural treasures) these little cuties hiding under some Northern Maiden Hair and Sword Fern.

Jack’s paintings often have beautiful texture that add to the depth of the image. This is achieved by building up paint through the creative process. Generally, paintings are dry to the touch at 3 weeks, and are suitable to ship at this point. Full curing of the painting can take as long as one year. Please allow for up to 4 weeks to deliver commissioned or new paintings, and always reach out by email with any questions or needs.
The Small Details
Color nuances as they appear on your screen can vary from what we see with our eyes in person. If you are unsure about the colors, we will be happy to send more photos or closeups. Please be sure the painting is right for you before purchasing. Paintings are sold as is, and not “upon approval”. If a painting is damaged during shipping, we will work with you to make it right.
