Flowers Rock

In thinking about how to re-start this blog after a several month sabbatical (renovating our house), I found inspiration in the painting hanging in our new house. It's from a little known artist, an abstract in oil on canvas that captures the messyness of an untended rose garden in the foreground and a new lava flow behind.

The artist is my oldest son, from an age that knew few boundaries once his imagination had taken control. He was an artist because he liked to paint with his Dad. The world in that moment of creating this painting understood beauty, the importance of color and balance. The painting is six years old now, and it still strikes me to remember that beauty is all around us, and flowers rock.

Jack is painting more flowers to heavy metal music. My guys all have a love of flowers and rock(s).
